Family-owned and -run since 1929, the Arcangeli Grocery Co., also known as Norm's Market, is the best stop in the area for picnic supplies. A deli in back makes sandwiches to go--the chicken-pesto is tops in popularity. Do try the delicious local goat cheese and the artichoke salsa, and be sure to pick up a loaf of the super house-brand artichoke-garlic and artichoke-pesto breads--big hunks of artichoke hearts are folded into soft bread and you finish baking it at home. And don’t forget some garlic-herb croutons and olallieberry muffins! I also selected two gigantic fresh artichokes from a basket-full selling for $1.50 each. Locally made jams and condiments are also available. A picnic area with tables is provided in back adjacent to a garden and creek.
