For creamy housemade ice cream, head to this sweet little shop inside an atmospheric vintage building. Depending on the weather, seating is more inviting in the air-conditioned interior or on the little sidewalk patio out front. Choose from an ice cream menu that includes unusual flavors--rhubarb, saffron, rose, pistachio, lemon custard--as well as more common ones--think Bing cherry--and always three vegan options as well. A variety of cones are available. The grapevine suggests ordering bourbon breakfast ice cream in a waffle cone. Next time. More treats include sundaes and milkshakes as well as house-baked cookies--some gluten-free choices are available--and made-to-order ice cream cakes to go. Ingredients are local and organic, and premium Straus Family Creamery products are among them.
