5 North
I-5 between Sacramento and
Redding parallels one North America’s great wildlife migration routes. Known as the Pacific Flyway, it runs the length of the Central Valley, where the
birds find plenty of food and water. Once composed of oak woodlands, grasslands and
marshes, this area now grows rice, nuts, fruits, and vegetables.
